Morning Prayer

Praise God!
For the gift of morning prayer
On a cold and cloudy day
While chill ravens’ cries echo
And steam rises from the coffee.
Praise God!
For the gift that He has given:
The world, stopped and silenced
A moment under stern decree of peace
Be still, and know that He is God.
Praise God!
For the greatest of all gifts:
The one returned to Him—
Thus he gives us morning prayer
On a cold and cloudy day.
